Abstract:The bearing performance of nine reinforced concrete short columns under cyclic loading was tested.The experi- mental results show that the new method of using continuous carbon fiber sheet(CFS)on strengthening reinforced concrete short columns can increase their shear strength and improve their deformation capability and ductility.At the same time,the factors affecting the effectiveness of seismic strengthening of reinforced concrete short columns,such as the shear span rati- o,axial compression ratio,tensile strength of CFS,the number of CFS layers and concrete strength are analyzed.
