| Abstract: | This article focuses on anesthetic considerations of cardiovascular risk for electroconvulsive (ECT) therapy. Preoperative evaluation, intraoperative management, and postoperative care are reviewed. Although the anesthetic risk to ECT patients is quite low, elderly patients or those presenting with known cardiovascular disease may be at increased risk and need special intervention or management during ECT. |
