| Abstract: | Two manufacturing methods for sapphire optical waveguides with polycrystalline alumina cladding, developed by Drexel University in Philadelphia, USA are introduced. These waveguides are suitable for high temperature applications, such as for IR signal transmission and high temperature sensor applications. |
