Development of application of surfactants in household detergent

Status and development trend of surfactants applied to household detergent were covered. The application and marketing of several important surfactants, such as linear alkyl benzene sulfonate, alpha olefin sulfonate, aliphatic alcohol ether sulfate, fatty acid methyl ester sulfonate, aliphatic alcohol ether, methyl ester ethoxylate, alkyl polyglucoside, etc, was presented. The result showed that fatty acid methyl ester sulfonate would be the most effective anionic surfactants as the new generation in the future was demonstrated. It indicated that the development trend of household detergent would be function, inspissation and liquid-state, and that of surfactants would be oleo-based or other special surfactants, meanwhile more and more attentions should be paid to their security. It was also suggested to strengthen the oleochemical industry construction, to solidify the development of oleo-based surfaetants.
