Approaches to reduce the consumption of sodium cyanide

To reduce the consumption of sodium cyanide is one of the most important ways to diminish the economical cost, no matter which process (such as cyanidation process, carbon-in-pulp process, heap-leaching process,or ion-exchan ging resin process)is employed,In this paper, the factors that effect the consumption of sodium cyanide are described.Ways to reduce consumption of sodium cyanide are introduced, viz: to control concentration of sodium cyanide strictly in lixi-viation, to get rid of harmful impurities before leaching by flotation, water washing, alkali leaching,acid washing,etc.; to control concentration of mineral pulp, fineness of grinding,leaching time,etc.and reclaim the barren solution for reuse.
