BRIEF ANALYSIS ON THE ENGINEERING DESIGN OF HYDRAULIC RECOVERY TURBINE IN REFINERY SERVICE

This paper introduces the applications of hydraulic recovery turbine for hydro-processing unit in refinery as well as its typical operation parameter and performance curve.The philosophy to define design flowrate and differential pressure,the process flow design,the setting of control valve and pressure relief valve,mechanical configuration and material selection,hydraulic calculation,mechanical seal selection,the arrangement of pump train,and the control and interlock design are discussed.It specially makes a comparison between radial splitting and horizontal splitting for the inner casing of hydraulic turbine,and raises the points for attention in engineering design.
