The Response of Urban Planning to Urban Land Use Intensity

Presently, there exist with the urban land use in China the following problems: similarity in urban industrial structure, duplicated construction, irrational urban land use structure, loss of control over the scale of urban land use and low efficiency in land utilization. All these have prominently shown that there are still many defects with urban plan- ning in the fields of system, mechanism, manage- ment and regulating and control measures. There- fore urban planning should follow the market mecha- nism and reform should be carried out on the plan- ning functions, concepts and workout methods, etc.
