Abstract: | Light localization is revealed by analyzing the spectral intensity and lasing threshold in two-dimensional (2D) media made of uniaxial scatterers arranged to be ordered in spatial location and disordered in orientation of their optical axes. Different system parameters such as surface-filling fraction and sample size are chosen for numerical simulations. Results show that, as the surface-filling fraction and sample size increases, the lasing threshold decreases rapidly, indicating the lightwave transits from a weak scattering state to a localized one. |
