Abstract: | Introduction of oxygen functions into bitumen fractions causes significant changes in the physical properties. The products possess the capability of reducing the surface tensions of aqueous systems. Derivatives containing the sulphonic group are more hydrophilic than those materials containing carboxylic and/or phenolic functions and appear to have superior dispersing and emulsifying properties. |
