Abstract:All experiments were carried out in geometrically similar vessels with diameters of 0.287m,0.495m and 1.1m respectively. Local gas holdups were measured by a hot film anemometer inupper,louer circulation regions and impeller region in the tanks.The distributions of local gasholdup in the tanks have been studied,especially in the impeller region of the tank with a diameterof 0.287m,the effects of operation conditions on the local gas holdup have also been studied,andabetter understanding of the mechanism of gas-liquid dispersion process may be obtained.
