Management mode of farmland water resources and mechanism in Taiwan

The management of water conservancy in Taiwan is mainly done by irrigation associations. The practice achieves good result after years of practice. Detailed introduction is made on the management approaches and operation system of irrigation and drainage in Taiwan, including organizational structures, operational system and financial resources of irrigation association, based on general introduction of irrigation development history. The experiences and good practice in Taiwan are summarized that can be a good reference for China in deepening reform of rural water resources management system.
