Research and Development on Organic Electroluminescent Display Devices

The structure of an organic electroluminescent(EL) display device is illustrated,as well as its mechanism.The comparison of the passive matrix and active matrix drive method for the EL device is made followed by summarisation of the fabrication technology of the organic EL dispaly.The newest achievements in the organic EL display from the world famous research groups and the commercialized products from the giant manufacturers are presented.Finally the patents around the world publisbed since the beginning of the R&D of the organic EL display are listed.
