| 摘 要： | 由于正式程度及语域均高出一般词汇,大词(big words)主要用于正式的比如外交等场合或学术文章、法律文件、官方文书、正式演讲、公文信函等等。英语中的大词数量相当丰富,与之匹配的汉语大词数量却少得多。因此,在翻译过程中要想完整再现大词所传达的语体风格,可以选择在译入语中寻找对等语域、译成汉语成语或四字短语以及采用文言词汇或文言句式等方式来进行大词的翻译。
