基于EPON的FTTH技术

随着IPTV、VOD、视频会议、VoIP等新兴网络业务的兴起,目前流行的几种宽带接入技术如xDSL、Cable Modem、LMDS将逐渐难已满足人们对带宽的需求.光纤到户（FTTH）是未来发展的目标,无源光网络（PON）则是实现这一目标的一种理想技术.如何实现视频、音频和数据在互联网上的透明传输,EPON作为多业务宽带接入方式具有优异的特性,它利用成熟的以太网技术和低成本的光纤设施,维护容易,实现简单,易于扩展和升级.主要讨论了广西电信采用的EPON的FTTH方案,对采用EPON的FTTH技术进行了详细的分析.

EPON-Based FTTH Technology

Nowadays, with the tremendous demand of applications such as IPTV, VOD, video conference, and VoIP in our digital world, it is getting more difficult to fulfill the popularity and the bandwidth requirement of today＇ s Internet usage with the carriers such as xDSL, Cable Modem, and LMDS. Fiber optics, with the speed of light, will be our next generation digital carrier in order to deliver much higher speed and better quality to overcome the need of bandwidth. Therefore, the development of FFFH and PON can make to achieve this goal is an ideal technology. How to carry video service, audio service, and data service in transparent transmission, Ethernet Passive Optical Network does have excellent features as a multi-service broadband access technology, which uses the mature Ethernet network and low-cost fiber-optic facilities, easy to maintain and simple to achieve. Meanwhile, it is convenient to expand and upgrade. This paper discusses the EPON FTTH engineering design scheme of Guangxi Telecom, and analyze FTrH technology based on EPON in this scheme.
