| Abstract: | In light of the problem of short hearth and lining life and the forced overhaul of BF after 3 to 4 years of operation the present paper analyzes origins of the defects proceeding from the design of hearth lining, carbon brick selection and the brick quality check and control to the design of furnace proper and puts forward a few measures of improvements for extension of the BF campaign. |
