Abstract: | Asserts that G. K. Leak and S. B. Christopher (see record 1982-29262-001) have demonstrated an excellent grasp of key areas in modern sociobiological thinking. However, the present author feels that they have unfortunately chosen to join the ranks of recent popularizers (e.g., D. P. Barash, 1979; E. O. Wilson, 1978) of sociobiology in stressing aspects of the theory that place heavy emphasis on biological determinism as opposed to behavioral plasticity. It is concluded that this emphasis leads Leak and Christopher to ignore the power of evolutionary theory in predicting and explaining individual differences.
