Non-isothermal Crystallization Kinetics of Polyamide 6/Acrylic Rubber Thermoplastic Elastomer

Abstract:The polyamide 6/acrylate rubber thermoplastic elastomer(PA6/ACM TPE)was prepared by dynamic vulcanization method,and differential scanning calorimeter was used to study the crystallization process of PA6 and PA6/ACM TPE at five different cooling rates.The non-isothermal crystallization kinetics of PA6 and PA6/ACM TPE were analyzed by Jezirony method,Ozawa method and Mo method.The results show that with the increase of cooling rate,the crystallization peaks of PA6 and PA6/ACM TPE become wider,and the half-height width increases,the initial crystallization temperature and the crystallization peak temperature decrease,the half-crystallization time is shorten.The non-isothermal crystallization behaviors of the PA6 and PA6/ACM TPE can be analyzed by the Jezirony method and the Mo method,Ozawa method is not applicable.The results of Jezirony method show that Avrami index(n)of PA6 and PA6/ACM TPE is between 2.0–3.0,and the corrected crystallization rate constant(Zc)of PA6/ACM TPE is larger than that of PA6,which shows that with the increase of cooling rate,the crystallization rate is increased and the crystallization time is shorten.The results of Mo method show that the crystallization kinetic parameters[F(T)]of PA6/ACM TPE is smaller than that of PA6,the crystallization rate of PA6/ACM TPE is higher than that of PA6,which shows that the addition of ACM phase accelerates the crystallization process of PA6.
