Abstract:This paper presents an axisymmetric, two-dimensional theoretical model for the interior ballistic two-phase flow, as well as the calculation results by computer coding based on this model, for a large-calibre smooth-bore gun. Emphasis of this simulation is on the flame-spreading process in the early interior ballistic cycle, especially on the effect of the radial flow on axial results. The results of simulation are supported by the experimental results on the gun.
