| 摘 要： | 语言与文化密不可分，作为交际工具的语言是打上民族文化烙印的符号系统。然而不同的民族因为生存地理环境、文化传统和宗教信仰的不同，可能赋予相同的物象以不同的文化内涵，使该事物成为具有独特文化内涵的文化意象。在跨文化交际中，经常会出现文化意象所导致的理解障碍。从英汉文化意象的差异及其产生的原因进行综合分析，希望为促进英汉跨文化交际理解拓展视野。

| Abstract: | Language and culture are interactive and interdependent. The meaning of language is often influenced by its culture. As a result, words in a language often embody rich cultural connotations. Due to the environmental and cultural peculiarities of different language communities, the same objects may be given similar or totally different symbolic and connotative meanings by their respective language speakers. The article compares the connotations some objects bear in English and Chinese cultures and analyses the factors which lead to these differences. |
