| Abstract: | The problem of torsional vibration of a cylindrical shell superposed on an initial nonhomogeneously deformed state which is caused by an uniform external pressure, is investigated. Using Green's formulation and a perturbation technique, the frequency equation for free torsional vibrations is obtained. Numerical results are presented which shows the effect of pressure. |
