Abstract:Based on the characteristics of photocatalytic, hydrophilc, uniform distributing the electric field, the photoinduced self - cleaning high - voltage insulator can inhibite the pollution flashover. The pieces of insulator string under the power grid at high al- titude and heavy pollution areas were calculated based on insulation coordination. The insulations appled for the high - voltage lines in China Southern Power Grid of Yunnan. Operation conditions of lines functioned welL and the pollution flashover never occurred in recent three years.
