| Abstract: | The situations for breakouts of the medium - thick slab caster after commissioning at No. 3 Steelmaking Plant of Jinan Steel were introduced. Causes for corner cracking breakout of the slab were analyzed. Through the improvements of both process operation and equipment, occurring frequency of corner cracking breakout was lowered remarkably. Slab casting has become more stable than ever before. |
