The paper presents the application of PLC in the control system of the weighing auto-fixed-quantity packing machine. In order to cope with reliability and stability of auto-fixed-quantity packing machine, an auto-control system for the fixed-quantity packing machine based on PLC is designed. The system is composed of the electronic weighing instrument, SIMATIC ST-200PLC and TP170B touch screen. The author elaborates the system composition and the working principle of the packing machine, analyzes in detail the design of the software and hardware and summarizes the merits of the system, like reliability, stability, economical efficiency and so on.
