Application and implementation of HRS technology in sulphuric acid plants based on smelter off-gas

Application and implementation of MECS HRS technology in two 800 kt/a sulphuric acid plants based on smelter off-gas are described. The summary of sulphuric acid plant is given briefly and HRS system is detailed with emphasis on process flow, main equipment, instrument and automation, as well as project implementation including purchase and supply, fabrication and construction, and commissioning and startup. The production of low-pressure steam for each plant reached 52. 1 t/h with a steam generating rate of 0. 493 t/t, resulting in good economic and environmental benefits.
