Development, Application and Challenge Confronted with Electronic Reconnaissance Satellite

This paper introduces the development actualities of overseas electronic reconnaissance satellites. Taking USA as an example, this paper discusses the development courses of electronic reconnaissance satellites from the 1^st to the 4^th generation, and refers that the development trends of electronic reconnaissance satellites are single, multipolar, multifunctional and longevous. The contributions of electronic reconnaissance satellites in modern wars lie in providing warning time, helping beat important military targets, obtaining the distribution of electronic equipments, etc. In the end,this paper points out the challenges confronted with electronic reconnaissance satellites.
