Abstract:A social systems model is developed that permits the anticipation of the effect on health of demographic changes in the population and of modifications to the health service delivery system serving the population. Parameters of this model have been estimated from data from the state of New Mexico. The model indicates that the availability of hospital facilities is a significant factor in reducing morbidity levels.
