Abstract: | The Awards for Distinguished Scientific Contributions are presented to persons who, in the opinion of the Committee on Scientific Awards, have made distinguished theoretical or empirical contributions to basic research in psychology. Award winners from 1956-2005 are listed. Also included here are the citations awarded to the 2005 APA Awards for Distinguished Scientific Contributions. A brief biography and a selected bibliography of each award winner is included. If an address was delivered, the award winner's address to the 113th annual APA Convention is also published. The award winners were Charles G. Gross, Douglas L. Medin, and Robert S. Siegler. Gross delivered an address entitled Processing the Facial Image: A Brief History (see record 2005-14550-003).
