摘    要:结合圆形交通标志的颜色特征和形状特征,提出一种多特征融合的圆形交通标志检测算法。首先采用彩色分割和非彩色分解技术分离出圆形交通标志,并去除部分背景区域。然后应用链码形式存储边缘,采用边缘长度、圆形度、展弦比等特征进一步去除背景区域。最后采用非线性最小二乘曲线拟合技术准确提取圆形交通标志。多种天气和光照情况下的圆形交通标志检测实验验证了算法的有效性。

Abstract:A multi feature fusion based circular traffic sign detection algorithm is proposed. Firstly, color segmentation and achromatic decomposition are used to extract area containing circular traffic signs based on color feature of circular traffic sign, and thus most of the background area is eliminated. Then, edge detection is applied, and the output edges are stored by chain code. Features, including length of contour circularity and aspect ratio are used to further eliminate background area. Finally, according to the shape feature of circular traffic sign, nonlinear least squares method is employed to detect the exact traffic signs. Effectiveness of the algorithm is demonstrated preliminarily on real images captured under various weather and illumination conditions.
