| Abstract: | As is known to all that language & culture are closely related, culture influences and shapes language and language reflects culture. English proverbs, as an essential part of the vocabulary and as the sinew of the language, they can more or less reflect geography, history, views, behavior and system of the society and of course provide a little glimpse or clues to the sex discrimination. The author in this essay focuses on the study of sexism in English proverbs. |
