Abstract:The cross-section and bundle type of conductors are systematically demonstrated for the 500 kV Pingshi to Qujiang transmission line in 30 mm and 50 mm heavy icing area in terms of transmission capacity,electromagnetic environment,mechanical characteristics and project investment.The results show that the double-bundle conductors with large cross-section can satisfy the code requirement in interruption value of electromagnetic environment and is obviously superior to the four-bundle conductors in mechanical characteristics and can save investment significantly.The double-bundle conductors with large cross-section are therefore recommended for the power line in 30 mm and above heave icing areas.
