Abstract: | Summary Alkali-isomerized linoleic acid and its methyl ester have been found to have boiling points higher than the corresponding
normal C18 acids and esters.
By careful fractional distillation of methyl esters of alkali-isomerized C18 cottonseed acids, methyl linoleate of 95% or more purity is obtained consisting of 75% conjugated methyl linoleate and some
20% of methyl ester of an altered linoleic acid.
