Distinguished Scientific Awards for an Early Career Contribution to Psychology.

Abstract:Presents the winners of the American Psychological Association's Early Career Awards for 1996. Recipients of this award may not have held a PhD for more than 9 yrs. For purposes of this award, psychology has been divided into 8 areas: cognition and human learning, psychopathology, health, developmental, applied research/psychometrics, social/personality, perception/motor performance, and behavioral neuroscience/animal learning and behavior. Four areas are considered each year, with areas rotated in 2-yr cycles. The winners are Mark Gluck (behavioral neuroscience/animal learning and behavior), Lee Jussim (social/personality), David Lubinski (applied research/psychometrics), and Caroline Palmer (perception/motor performance).
