Abstract: | John C. Colletti has used his empathy and leadership skills to develop programs and interventions focused on serving populations who are generally overlooked and consequently underserved. He has worked with men's issues in older people and serves as a leading advocate of group therapy with older adults. As an intern at Howard University Hospital, he recognized the psychological needs of minorities and educated high school students in Washington, DC, about the medical risks and psychological issues confronting African Americans with end stage organ disease. His strong affiliation with the American Psychological Association (APA) and his research have reflected his commitment to disenfranchised populations.
