| Abstract: | Based upon Gassmann equations this paper discusses the contribution oflithological characteristics and the type of pore fluid to elastic moduli. A cross plot of bulk elastic modulus versus shear clastic modulus is thus plotted to identify the lithological charactcrisrics as well as the type of pore fluid. Besides, a so-called "specific parameter mcthod'for identifying fluid types is proposed in the paper which implies that a number of parameters which arc closely related to the fluid' s property arc required to be extracted. Examples regarding the application of the two methods arc provided in the end of the paper. |
