Ways of Improving the Efficiency of the Production of Cast Iron and Ferroalloys in Blast Furnaces and Electric Furnaces

It is shown that the most effective approach to improving the mechanical equipment used to separate slag from metal is to modernize the main trough and design an automatic system for controlling the slag-separation process. A new system for removing slag has been designed and built, and it functions effectively under almost any conditions on blast furnaces and electric furnaces that are being used to make cast iron and ferroalloys. An automated system for controlling the separation of slag from the metal has also been developed.
