| |
Abstract: | Presents guidelines developed for psychologists conducting child custody evaluations (CCEs), specifically within the context of parental divorce. The guidelines build on the American Psychological Association's (APA's) Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct (APA, 1992). The goal of the guidelines is to promote proficiency in using psychological expertise in conducting CCEs. The guidelines are (1) orienting guidelines concerning the purpose of a CCE, (2) general guidelines for preparing for a CCE, and (3) procedural guidelines for conducting a CCE.
