1914年布鲁诺·陶特在德国科隆博览会创作的"玻璃亭"被后人当作西方现代表现主义的代表作载入史册。1919年陶特与朋友们的"玻璃链(the Glaserne Kette)"至今仍是一段理想与浪漫的佳话,1924～1930年陶特放弃浪漫的乌托邦幻想,他与马丁·瓦格纳推出了生态城市建筑的雏形:布里茨·豪夫埃森社会住宅区,体现了陶特的理想、观念和改革热情。1933年后被纳粹德国迫害的现代建筑天才们成了蒲公英,飞到世界各地去生根、发芽。
