Abstract: | Melt flow behavior of vinylchloride-vinyl acetate copolymers is measured and expressed as melt viscosity, shear rate and shear stress—information useful to the plastics engineer in formulation, design, and processing. Copolymer of comparable I.V. to homopolymer PVC requires less energy to process. Good compounding techniques are required to realize the potential of ultra-clear profile extrudates. |
