Abstract: | We have solved the Eliashberg gap equations which are valid for arbitrary phonon frequency, (ph), electron-phonon coupling constant, (), and screened Coulomb interaction, (
*). We have used values of (ph),, and (
*) appropriate to the cuprate superconductors, and calculated the density of states, the pair potential., and the value of the gap at T=0 K. Using the linearized Eliashberg equations in the matrix representation, we have calculatedT
c
and 2/k T
c
. We have found that we can account for the highT
c
's in the cuprates with reasonable values for,
*, and ph. |
