Abstract: | The microbial transformations of (+)‐ and (?)‐bornyl acetate were investigated using the plant parasitic fungus, Glomerella cingulata. As a result, (+)‐ and (?)‐bornyl acetate were converted to (+)‐ and (?)‐5‐exo‐hydroxybornyl acetate, (+)‐ and (?)‐5‐oxobornyl acetate and (+)‐ and (?)‐borneol respectively. The structures of the metabolic products were determined by spectroscopic data. © 2001 Society of Chemical Industry |
