The Simplified Equation of Separation for the Enrichment of Heavy Water in a Batch-Type Thermal Diffusion Column

Abstract

A simple but precise equation of separation for the enrichment of heavy water in a batch-type thermal diffusion column has been derived with the consideration of a pseudobinary mixture. The experiment has also been conducted for various initial concentrations of D₂O and the results are in agreement with the prediction of the theory.
