| Abstract: | Based on 20 years of experience in rail transit planning, the author provides an overview of the planning of Shanghai urban rail transit and its evolution and changes. Meanwhile, in the light of experience and on the basis of theoretical research and case studies, the author analyzes the integrative development of the periphery area of rail transit stations in terms of ways of development and principals of layout, and proposes suggestions for the planning based on current status of rail transit stations in Shanghai. |
