Abstract:Based on the linear strain-hardening model and the Von-Mises yielding criterion, the elastic-plastic analysis on the welded hollows spherical joints of single layer reticulated shells was carried out by finite element software ANSYS and the bilinear model of loading-deformation curve was established. "short-member model" considering the elasto-plasticity of welded hollow spherical joints was presented. In the finite element software SAP 2000, the model was imported and then the dynamic elastic-plastic behavior of a single layer reticulated shell was analyzed. It was proved that the actual behavior and work performance of the reticulated shell could be reached by way of considering the elasto-plasticity of welded hollow spherical joints. The results showed that the current design method of reticulated shell was conservative and should be improved.
