Canonical correlation analysis: A general parametric significance-testing system.
Authors:Knapp   Thomas R.
Abstract:Suggests that significance tests for 9 of the most common statistical procedures (simple correlation, t test for independent samples, multiple regression analysis, 1-way ANOVA, factorial ANOVA, analysis of covariance, t test for correlated samples, discriminant analysis, and chi-square test of independence) can all be treated as special cases of the test of the null hypothesis in canonical correlation analysis for 2 sets of variables.
