Abstract: | A mathematical model based on queuing theory is described. This model assists the choice of buffer size necessary for an intermittent digital transmission system. The influence of any type of interruption on the data transmission can be evaluated. Comparison among different message transmission formats can be carried out in order to choose the one that best corresponds to the overall requirements. |
