试论唐代禅林经济

中唐以后,禅林经济形成,成为佛教寺院经济的主要形式之一。禅林经济以普请劳作制、自行开垦土地、自给自足等为主要特色。后来随着禅宗的发展,一些禅林世俗地主化了,依赖佃户为主要劳动力,但总的来说,禅林经济还是一种自我经营的经济。

On the Zen Temple Economy in the Tang Dynasty

After the mid-Tang Dynasty,the Zen temple economy takes shape,and becomes one of the main forms of Buddhist temple economy.The Zen temple economy characterized by everybody working together,cultivating land on own efforts,and self-sufficient.Afterwards,along with its development,some Zen temples become secular landlords,relying on the efforts of Tenant farmers,but generally speaking,the Zen temple economy was managed by the monds themselves.
