礼拜堂位于赫尔辛基市中心——一个具有强烈城市文脉的地方。礼拜堂通过其独特个性和对周围环境的整合展示其功能内涵。长方形的建筑布局也使整个场地在空间上显得非常统一。横跨斜坡车道上方的桥梁被设计成一个小小的城市广场,礼拜堂的入口正对着广场，这样的安排把斜坡车道对场地的干扰减到了最小。

Simonkappeli Chapel Competition, Helsinki 2004

The chapel is situated in central Helsinki in a very urban context. The chapel reveals its functionality with its personal character and by defragmenting its surroundings As rectangular in plan it unites spatially the site. The bridge over the driving slope is designed as a small city square, through which there is an entrance to the chapel By this arrangement the disturbance of the driving slope is minimized.
