An Inquisition of the Purpose of OOA

Hitherto,there are many published materials for presenting or comparing OOA methods,but few for exploring the purpose of OOA.This paper explores two promises of some OOA methods,namely:(i)OOA fulfills the purpose of requirement analysis,(ii) OOA has a smooth transition to OOD This paper shows that most OOA methods don't fulfill all purposes of requirement analysis;and the transition from OOA to OOD is not so easy as some methods claim Then many difficulties in the transition are discussed,and finally,some suggestions are summarized.
