Photoacoustic characterization of the effects of air inclusion on the thermal properties of foamed polyurethane

Abstract:The usefulness of the open photoacoustic cell technique for investigating the effects of air inclusions on the thermal properties of foamed polyurethane is demonstrated. It is shown that the thermal diffusivity and thermal expansion coefficients increase with decreasing values of the resin to catalyst ratio, which corresponds to greater air inclusion in the resin.
