Abstract:Reflection and sticking of hydrogen atoms at amorphous carbon surfaces is studied at impact energies ranging from 0.1 to 50 eV using molecular dynamics simulations. We show that the reflection coefficient at the lowest energies is large and is very sensitive to both the many-body potential used in the simulations and the degree of hydrogen enrichment of the surfaces.
